  • No sunscreen is completely waterproof.

    What you want to look for is water resistance. That means the
    SPF stays effective while you sweat, swim, or surf, usually up to 4 hours,
    depending on the label. Just remember to reapply if you're towel-drying, out
    for more than 2 hours, or doing the hard yards in the sun.

  • "Broad-spectrum" means you’re covered from both UVA
    and UVB rays.

    SPF only measures protection from UVB - the rays that burn. But UVA rays are
    sneaky: they’re longer, lower-energy, and go deeper, causing more long-term
    damage like aging and pigmentation. If you’re spending time outdoors, sweating
    it out, or just want full skin protection, always look for broad-spectrum on
    the label. It’s your cue that the sunscreen protects you from both UVA and UVB.

  • Yes. Sun Motion sunscreens are reef-conscious and free from
    oxybenzone and octinoxate, ingredients banned in places like Hawaii. While some
    lab studies have shown coral stress at high concentrations of certain sunscreen
    ingredients, these levels are rarely found in the ocean. The leading causes of
    coral bleaching are climate change, ocean acidification, and pollution. You can
